butterfly bead

impressionist painting welded with glass. The butterfly murrini (millefiori) was made in a demonstration I did at the University Michigan Dearborn Campus.  This is a technique I studied with Loren Stump in 2006, and 2007. After getting pretty good at making butterflies, I was invited to demonstrate it.

I told the audience they could all have a slice. I should of payed close attention.  A bunch of glass Artists grabbed it before I sliced it. I was left with just a couple slices. This is the bead I made with it.

the bead is 2" tall, with the sterling silver wrap it is 2-1/4" tall
